A Little Bit of Luxury Boxed Up

Well my latest cake I have entitled 'A little Bit of Luxury Boxed up'.  I have tried out a red velvet recipe. With its lucious deep colour, I thought the whole cake should have a luxiourious feel, so opted for reds, ivory and golds.

Flower detail on top of the cake

The Cake is sliced into 4 layers with a cream cheese filling between each layer, then finished with an ivory royal icing. I have given the Icing a quilted lookwith gold sugar balls. The cake is then set on a red cake board with piped deatils.

Little Bunny Cake

This Little Bunny Cake was made for my daughters 1st Birthday, her most prized possession is her little brown bunny which goes to sleep with her every night. Her first cake could only be a little bunny cake. I have set the bunny on a hill with daisy's and carrots.

Little daffodills around edge of cake to fit in with spring bunny theme

The cake is a Madeira Cake, filled with butter cream and jam and shaped to a hill shape and then coated with sugarpaste icing. The cake board has also been decorated to continue with the hill. Cake is finished with little daisys and daffodills.

Creative cakes

I started baking after my first daughter was born, and soon got into Sugarcraft and cake decorating and found a flare for it. With each cake I have done, my skills have improved. I started experimenting with sugarcraft Flowers last year, and different fondants and continually striving to improve my skills.

First attempt of sugracraft flowers, chocolate cake with spray of red roses, lilles, and little yellow flowers

My first commission was a shoe cake, to try and replica a particular pair of Kurt Guiger shoes on top of a cake. Always up for a challenge, I took it on!

Finished with a few butterflies for a splash of colour and glittery back roses (all edible)

Close up of shoe made entirely from sugarpaste and black roses
